A visit to Longstone Antique Tires warehouse is quite an eye-opener. First you have to get past the staff car park where you can expect to find a Lancia Beta, a Ford Cortina, a 20’s Model A Ford, an Alfa Spider, a 20’s chain driven Frazer Nash and other odd collector cars, always something a bit unusual. Inside the warehouse you will find antique tires from before the First World War to tires for collector cars after the Falklands War. Some of the tires within the shed such as antique beaded edge tires use tire technology that was out dated nearly 100 years ago. Longstone Tires are the source of the Pirelli Cinturato tires of the 50’s and 60’s. The Michelin XWX and TRX tires were fitted to the most exotic European supercars of the 70’s and 80’s. and the antique range of Dunlop race tires for collector cars of all years are available from stock.
Inside the office you will find an interesting selection of photographs of exotic and wonderful collector cars, and in the corner the all-important kettle. Longstone Tires have a turn-over of 3 kettles a year.
